As geographers we investigate what’s going on in the world and how we can make sense of it.
Year 7 and 8
Geography taught in Year 7 and 8 aims to inspire students to learn more about the world in which they live in. Students will develop skills that prepare them for GCSE, where they will write reports, handle and analyse data, be involved in decision making and are expected to think creatively.
Through geography, students will not only learn geographical skills but they will be encouraged to develop literacy, numeracy, ICT and independent learning skills. A variety of teaching strategies are used in lessons so as to appeal to all types of learner and give students the opportunity to enjoy their learning. Students are also given the opportunity to participate in fieldwork activities, both in class and often as part of their homework.
