Students at Easington Academy remembered those who lost their lives for our country in our Armistice Day remembrance service today.

Year 11 students listened to the reading 'For The Fallen' by Laurence Binyon, read by Miss Spoors and Year 11 student, Lucien Guest played The Last Post while our head boy, head girl and their deputy’s lowered the flag to half-mast.

The rest of the Academy students observed the two minute silence in their lessons and listened to the reading and The Last Post in class.

We also raised £161.12 from the sale of poppies - well done and thank you to students.

Armistice Day is commemorated every year on 11 November to mark the armistice signed between the Allies of World War I and Germany.
