A group of students headed to Blyth beach last week to investigate the impact of coastal management strategies.
They collected data on sand accumulation, the profile of the beach between the groynes and the rate and direction of longshore drift. They then popped to Newbiggin by the Sea to look at other examples of coastal defences.
Unfortunately, the weather wasn't on our side but the students powered through and stayed positive and enthusiastic throughout the day - well done!
