Two footballers from Durham Women’s FC visited Easington Academy today as part of their FA Cup Trophy Tour, ahead of their first ever FA Cup Quarter Final on Sunday.
Annabel Johnson and Becky Salicki came into school to run a workshop with 30 of our own keen footballers from Years 7 and 8. In the workshop, students took part in a skills challenge where they took turns to showcase their best moves before completing an activity based on heart rate.
Students were also given the opportunity to ask a range of questions including: what it takes to get to the top of the game and what advice they would give to young players aspiring to become professionals. This was especially interesting for students, Bridie Thompson and Ellie Wise, who both have aspirations to compete at the top of the women’s game.
All students who took part were given a free ticket to the game on Sunday and had the chance to ask the players for autographs. Best of luck to Durham Women's FC!
