Congratulations to our fantastic Year 8 boys' cricket team who were crowned 'Chance to Compete' county cricket champions this week after winning every game in the county finals.
The twelve best cricket teams from the county competed at the eight aside cricket tournament held at Norton Cricket Club.
Easington Academy won both of their games against Framwellgate Moor and Egglescliffe to qualify for the semi-finals before comfortably beating Hetton in the semi-final.
The boys then faced Whickham School in the final. Easington Academy bowled Whickham out for 60 runs with impressive bowling. After a nervy start with the bat, Easington reached the target of 61 with two overs to spare, thanks to an outstanding batting performance from Luke Marr.
