On Thursday, students had the opportunity to go to Global radio in Newcastle to record an advert for East Durham College.
Earlier in the year, Global radio came into the academy to judge a competition where students had to pitch an idea for a 30-second radio ad to promote East Durham College. The groups were separated into boys and girls and after an amazing pitch from both sides – the boys were victorious.
The students enjoyed a tour of the station and chatted with the radio team to find out about the work that goes in to make a successful broadcast.
Students then jumped in the studio themselves as they were asked to professionally record their advert.
