Easington Academy students celebrated this morning as they picked up their long-awaited GCSE results.

There were some fantastic results and many smiling faces especially from our top performers who include:

Ellie Mae Stephenson who achieved ten Grade 9-7s, she will be off to Durham Sixth Form to study biology, chemistry and maths.

Michael Fryer also scored highly with ten Grades 9-7 with 9s in history, English language, physics and PE. Michael hopes to do a physics degree in the future and one day work at CERN in Switzerand.

Jack Halliday was overjoyed to receive ten Grade 9-7s, including a Grade 9 in physics. He will be going on to study maths, further maths, chemistry and physics at New College Durham.

Many of our other students will also be going on to study at colleges and sixth forms including Molly Alcock, who was delighted to receive a Grade 8 in maths. Molly will be studying maths, psychology, criminology and PE at Durham Sixth Form alongside Emma Barron who plans to study sociology, psychology and English literature.

Other high achievers of the day include Jessica Marr, Ellis Wilson, Matthew Moore, Imogen Lawson and Ruby Million.

Well done to everyone and we wish you the best of luck in your future endeavours!
