Former Easington Academy student, Brad Young, has been called up to the England U19 squad ahead of a training camp taking place this week.
The 18-year-old Hartlepool United keeper signed a new deal with the club at the start of the season after featuring in their 2020-21 pre-season. He is yet to make a debut for the club however he featured on loan at Blyth Spartans before the 2020-21 season was cancelled due to covid. Brad has previously been involved in England training camps and has caught the eye of Premier League clubs such as Chelsea.
Mr Hutton, Head of PE at the Academy, commented: “Well done Brad. Being called up to represent your country is an amazing achievement and we are very proud.”
