Teacher of Religious Education

Required from September 2018.

We are looking for a dynamic and highly motivated teacher of Religious Education who is committed to academic excellence and high classroom standards.

We warmly welcome applications from both experienced and newly qualified teachers.

When our students leave us, we want them to have enjoyed their five years at Easington Academy. This means leaving with the best possible results and taking with them a store of happy memories.

Easington Academy is now one of the top highest performing schools in County Durham.

  • A varied and challenging curriculum tailored to the individual needs of students
  • Sporting success at County and regional level
  • The school offers a supportive and caring environment for its students: full time counsellor and school nurse, and a team of Home/School Liaison Officers
  • The Headteacher became a National Leader of Education and the Academy was designated as a National Support School

In recent parental surveys, 99% of our parents said that they would recommend our school.

Easington Academy is part of the North East Learning Trust - a family of schools that spans the north east. By joining the Trust we are now well positioned to help take our school from strength to strength, offering our experience and expertise to other schools, whilst having wider access to shared resources and ideas ourselves.

The Trust vision is that every child experiences excellence every day, and membership enables us all to share our skills to ensure that this vision is a reality for all schools in the Trust. Teachers joining Easington Academy join us as proud members of a Trust that is seeing rapid results across the region and one that places huge importance on staff development with opportunities at all levels to progress and reach your full potential.

The successful candidate will join a team of committed and highly professional teachers in a supportive school which has an extremely successful academic record. He/she will be required to teach across the ability range at Key Stage 3-4.

The ideal candidate will:

  • be a well-qualified practitioner with a passion for religious education
  • be a good communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
  • be a self-motivated and  enthusiastic team-player
  • have a proven track record for securing successful student outcomes.

If you are passionate about the students with whom you work, have high expectations with regards to standards and behaviour and a commitment to ensuring that every student achieves their full potential, we look forward to your application.

Visits to the school are warmly welcomed. Please contact the school office on 0191 527 0757.
