We welcomed students from local primary and secondary schools to take part in a workshop called 'Pit Echoes' with Durham Music Service and Easington Colliery Brass Band. Students got the chance to work alongside the championship band and improve their musical skills. They also got to listen to stories about families that worked in the local pits. Everyone really enjoyed the day! The project will conclude with a concert in the local area in June.
